Bernard Vallejos to speak at Defense Research Institute's (DRI) Medical Liability and Health Care Law Seminar in San Francisco, CA. [03/06/2008] Bernard Vallejos will be delivering the welcome and opening remarks to all the young lawyers present at the Young Lawyers Breakout session during the Defense Research Institute's Medical Liability and Health Care Law Seminar in San Francisco, CA on March 12-14, 2008. Bernard will also be introducing each of the speakers who will be giving presentations throughout the afternoon.

Tamela J. White elected to IADC Foundation Board [01/24/2008] Tamela J. White was elected to serve a three-year term on the International Association of Defense Counsel's Board of Foundation.
The Foundation Board of the IADC was formed for the purpose of soliciting contributions to educate the public and the legal community and to fund programs and present public forums dealing with litigation.

F3 Welcomes Chip Capehart II! [01/21/2008] F3 is pleased to welcome Marvin (Chip) Capehart II.
Chip joined the firm as an Associate Attorney after serving as Director of Legal Services and In-House Counsel for a local not-for-profit hospital. His practice is focused in health care with special emphasis upon the defense of medical malpractice claims and health care compliance issues.

Tammy White and Bernard Vallejos co-authored a book chapter for the American Bar Association. [12/26/2007] Tammy White and Bernard Vallejos co-authored a book chapter for the American Bar Association. The chapter was named "Key Federal Agencies Regulating Pharmaceuticals in Michael E. Clark’s Pharmaceutical Law: Regulation of Research, Development, and Marketing". This book chapter provides a comprehensive review of the various agencies and organizations which regulate the pharmaceutical industry, as well as summaries of the applicable rules and guidelines they have set forth.

Bernard S. Vallejos appointed to serve on Defense Research Institute (DRI) Committee. [11/28/2007] Bernard S. Vallejos appointed to serve as Liaison Vice-Chair on Defense Research Institute (DRI) Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee. DRI’s goals are to teach and educate and improve the skills of defense law practitioners; to improve the civil justice system; to counter the plaintiff’s bar; and to encourage ethical and responsible legal practices. Bernard's role will be to assist in the planning of the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee’s annual seminar in 2009; participate in the marketing of the Medical Liability and Health Care Law Committee’s annual seminar in 2009; and submit topical articles for inclusion in DRIs “For the Defense” and other newsletters.

Tammy White and Allison Carroll co-authored an article published in the International Association of Defense Counsel July Newsletter. [10/31/2007] The article co-authored by Tammy White and Allison Carroll titled "The Art of Voir Dire: Thoughts for the Trial Voir Dire Checklist" was published in the International Association of Defense Counsel's July Newsletter. The article describes the art of jury selection.

Bernard S. Vallejos appointed to serve as Vice Chair of Medical Liability Committee [10/25/2007] Bernard S. Vallejos appointed to serve as Vice Chair of Medical Liability Committee for the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. Bernard assumed this position on October 22, 2007. The mission of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia is to bring together attorneys who defend individuals and corporations in civil litigation for the purposes of elevating the standards of West Virginia trial practice; supporting and advocating for the improvement of the adversary system of jurisprudence; and increasing the quality of services rendered by the legal profession to the citizens of West Virginia.
